Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    College of Letters, Arts & Science | College of Education | School of Public Affairs: 2.4 cumulative GPA. College of Business | College of Engineering & Applied Science | Nursing majors: 3.0 cumulative GPA. Health Sciences major: 2.5 cumulative GPA.
  • Official Transcripts:
    High school transcripts/GED scores are only required if you have completed less than 24 hours of transferable coursework. We require official transcripts from each and every collegiate institution you attended.
  • SAT Scores:
    Official standardized test scores are required if you have earned fewer than 24 transferable credits.
  • Essay:
    Students with a GPA between 2.0 and 2.4 are encouraged to provide a personal statement explaining their grades, any life events or other situations that might have affected academic performance.
  • Other Requirements:
    Students must also have completed English Composition I and College Algebra with a C- or better prior to admission.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    C- is the lowest grade allowable for transfer credit.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    A maximum of 72 credits or courses will be accepted for transfer from a 2-year institution, 102 credits from a 4-year. You must complete a minimum of 18 credits in residence at UCCS to earn a bachelor's degree.
