The Kuskokwim Campus is located in an extended community of more than 46 Alaska Native villages. They are primarily Yup'ik/Cup'ik Eskimo villages with 56 tribes in a 57,000 square mile roadless area. The Kuskokwim Campus offers academic, vocational and community interest courses, as well as courses leading to associate, baccalaureate and master's degrees. Kuskokwim Campus is the largest rural campus in the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) system. The campus is physically located in Bethel, a regional hub community situated in Alaska's Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. The region holds one of the last indigenous cultures and societies resident in their homeland and still speaking a vital Native language - Central Yup'ik/Cup'ik Eskimo.

Financial Information

  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    Financial aid in the form of scholarships, grants, loans and employment is available at UAF to eligible students who need assistance to attend school. Financial aid can be used to help pay for tuition, fees, books, supplies and living expenses such as room and board.     Students may earn undergraduate credit based on university-level learning they have obtained outside the classroom. Students can document the university-level learning they have gained with a portfolio or copies of licenses and certificates earned.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Minimum of cumulative 2.0 GPA from transfer institutions.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Yes, official transcripts are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT or ACT scores are not required if student has 30 credits or more of transfer credit for the bachelor degree.
  • Application Fee:
    $40 for certificate and associate, $50 for bachelor

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Transfer credit is awarded for courses in which the student received grades of C- or better. Instructor permission may be required for purposes of registration if the transfer credit courses have not satisfied the prerequisite requirements.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Undergraduate credits earned at the 100 level or above with a C- grade or higher at institutions accredited by one of the six regional accrediting agencies will be considered for transfer.
