Trocaire College, the only independent private, two-year college in the City of Buffalo, was founded in 1958 by the Sisters of Mercy as Sancta Maria College, offering higher educational opportunities to women of the Order. Trocaire College, a private, career-oriented Catholic College, in the spirit of the Sisters of Mercy, strives to empower students toward personal enrichment, dignity and self-worth through education in a variety of professions and in the liberal arts. Transfer Application Requirements

  • Official Transcripts:
    Official high school and college transcripts are required and should be forwarded to the Admissions and Records Office from any previous educational institutions attended.
  • SAT Scores:
    We do not require the SAT / ACT for admission. However, we do recommend that you still take them.
  • Application Fee:
    You can apply for free online or be charged a $25.00 application fee for a paper application.
  • Interview:
    Although an interview is not necessarily required for admission; a personal interview with an Admissions Counselor may be asked of some students.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Only courses completed with a grade of ā€œCā€ or better are acceptable for transfer.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Please note that a student must earn a minimum of thirty credit hours at Trocaire to be eligible for a degree. A student must complete 50% of his/her course work here to be eligible for a Trocaire College Certificate.

  • Transfer Agreements:
    Trocaire College has signed agreements with numerous four-year colleges/universities. The articulation agreement facilitates an effective transfer of credit for those students who wish to continue their education beyond an Associate Degree.
