Alfred State - Articulation in MathematicsSUNY Fredonia - Alfred State College Articulation in Mathematics The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at SUNY Fredonia offers a BS in Mathematics program that includes three options: Mathematics – Liberal Arts; Applied Mathematics – Economics Option; Applied Mathematics – Statistics/Operations Research Option. SUNY Fredonia and Alfred State do not have a formal articulation agreement for this program. The following information is provided to qualified Alfred State graduates to facilitate transfer into the program. GPA Criteria: Generally, to be admitted, students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. SUNY Fredonia’s College Core Curriculum (CCC) requires two courses in the social sciences from two different disciplines. Students interested in the Applied Mathematics – Economics Option should take ECON 1013 and/or ECON 2023 at Alfred State. 2. The CCC also requires two courses in the natural sciences from two different disciplines. The mathematics major at SUNY Fredonia requires a college-level chemistry or physics course with lab. 3. The CCC includes a speaking intensive requirement that will be met by taking MATH 405 and an approved MATH/STAT elective at SUNY Fredonia. 4. The CCC also includes an upper-level requirement; this will be waived for students in the mathematics certification programs.
