  • Accepts Transfers:
    To be considered a transfer student, you must have completed 30+ semester credit hours at a regionally accredited institution. If you wish to transfer and have completed less than 30 hours, you will need to meet freshman admission requirements.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    To be considered as a transfer student, you must have earned a grade point average of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Official Transcripts:
    Provide official transcripts from each college or university attended.
  • Application Fee:
    Submit a completed application for admission with a non-refundable fee of $40.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Only courses in which a student has earned a grade equivalent of "C" or better will be acceptable for transfer.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    To be eligible for a bachelor's degree you must complete at least 25% of the hours required for the degree at UT Tyler and at least 24 of the last 30 upper-division credit hours in residence at UT Tyler.
