    You must have completed and submitted the TWU Scholarship Application by March 15th. In addition, you must have all required admission applications and academic transcripts in the TWU Admission's Office by this same date. Information for Transfer In Students

  • Accepts Transfers:
    Transfer Students are Applicants who have completed 12 or more semester credit hours, but have not received a baccalaureate degree are considered transfer students. About 60 percent of TWU undergraduates enter as transfer students.
  • Credit For Life Experience:
    TWU does not accept life or work experience as college credit.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Students must have attended a regionally accredited college or university, have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale on all transferable college work, and be in good standing with his or her previous institution. Several departments have higher grade point average requirements for enrollment in advanced or upper-division course work.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Submit official transcripts from each accredited college or university you have attended. If you have fewer than 12 transferable semester credits, freshman admission requirements apply and official high school transcripts are also required.
  • SAT Scores:
    Standardized test scores are not required.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is not required.
  • Application Fee:
    A nonrefundable application fee of $50, $75 for international students, is required and can be paid online through ApplyTexas.org. This fee applies to all applicants, to include new and returning students.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    Students who have earned the degree of Associate of Arts or Associate of Science from an accredited college in the State of Texas, and are in good standing with that institution are assured admission to TWU.
  • Other Requirements:
    If you are a permanent resident, submit a copy of your permanent resident card.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Only courses with a grade of ā€œDā€ or better will transfer.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Students may transfer up to 84 semester hours from a junior or community college. All such credit is accepted as lower-level credit. There is no maximum number of semester hours transferred from a four-year institution.
