Financial Information

• Scholarships and Financial Aid:
  There are a limited number of academic scholarships for outstanding undergraduate transfer students. Financial aid options include grants, work-study and student and parent loans. Contact the Office of Financial Aid: 512-245-2315 or finaid@txstate.edu.

Information for Transfer In Students

• Accepts Transfers:
  Students may apply all transferable credit hours from coursework completed at any appropriately accredited college or university.
• Transfer Agreements:
  Transfer Planning Guides are available for students transferring from junior colleges throughout Texas into many of the majors offered at Texas State.

Application Deadlines for Transfer

Transfer Application Requirements

• Minimum GPA:
  Students with 1-29 transferable credit hours: 2.0 GPA. Students with 30 or more transferable credit hours: 2.25 GPA.
• Official Transcripts:
  High school transcripts are required if applying with 1-29 transferable credit hours. College transcripts sent individually from every institution previously attended are required by all transfer applicants.
• SAT Scores:
  SAT/ACT scores are required for students applying with 1-29 transferable credit hours. For students with 30 or more transferable credit hours, SAT/ACT scores are not required.
• Letters of Recommendation:
  Not required for admissions consideration.
• Essay:
  An essay is required for students applying with 1-29 transferable credit hours. For students with 30 or more transferable credit hours, an essay is not required.
• Application Fee:
  $60 application fee ($75 application fee for international transfer students).
• Interview:
  Not required for general admissions consideration.
• Other Requirements:
  Additional requirements vary by program/major.

Transfer Credit Policy

• Minimum Grade:
  All grades earned in transferable coursework will be transferred to Texas State. A minimum grade of "D" is required to satisfy core curriculum required classes. Minimum grades for program/major prerequisites vary by college and department.
• Credits (Min/Max):
  All transferable credit hours will be transferred to Texas State. Only 66 hours will be applied toward a students degree plan.
