Located on the border of Texas and Arkansas, Texas A&M University-Texarkana is a comprehensive regional university and provides the citizens of Northeast Texas and three neighboring states a convenient opportunity to earn a four year degree, a graduate degree and a doctoral degree. The university began accepting freshman, sophomore and doctoral students in the fall of 2010. The university provides great value for students by having among the lowest university tuition rates in the state. Within the university there are three colleges: College of Business, College of Education and Liberal Arts and the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

  • Accepts Transfers:
    A student should submit a Transfer Application if he/she has earned 22 or more transferable college credit hours
  • Credit For Life Experience:
    CLEP, DANTES, and Advanced Placement official score reports are required.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer students MUST have a cumulative transfer GPA of 2.0 on all transferable college level coursework to be eligible for admission to the university.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Transcripts from ALL college or universities you have attended are REQUIRED
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $30 application fee.
  • Other Requirements:
    Submit official records confirming bacterial meningitis vaccination or booster to Magnus Health.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Most courses taken at another regionally accredited post-secondary institution in which a grade of D or better is received may be transferred provided the overall transfer grade point average meets the specified transfer acceptance requirements.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Regardless of the number of hours transferred to the University, students will be required to successfully complete a minimum of 25 percent of the credit hours required for the degree chosen through instruction offered by A&M-Texarkana.
