SCCC is an accredited, comprehensive two-year community college that sits on 167 beautiful acres with three ponds and 12 academic buildings. A short distance from the main campus is the SCCC McGuire Technical Education Center located on Main Street in Newton, NJ. Additionally, a satellite location is located at Vernon High School in Vernon, NJ. Sussex delivers over 38 programs designed to transfer to four-year institutions and 31 career and technical programs intended for students to enter the workforce directly to support the region’s economic prosperity. The College also offers 18 professional certificates to build on a student’s current or future credentials.

This is your application for Federal and State* financial aid, which most students don’t realize they qualify for this type of aid. The Foundation at Sussex awards scholarships to help support students with their college education. This year the Foundation awarded over $155,000 in scholarship money.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    A minimum grade of “C” or its equivalent is required for transfer credit to be applicable to a student’s certificate or associate degree curriculum.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Sussex County Community College will accept a maximum of 50% of the credits required for a degree (A.A., A.S. or A.F.A.) or certificate or up to 39 credits for an A.A.S. degree for credits earned at other institutions, or by experiences and exams.
