Stony Brook is characterized by innovation, energy, and progress, transforming the lives of people who earn degrees, work, and make groundbreaking discoveries. Dramatic growth has turned what was once a small teacher prep college into an internationally recognized research institution. Our reach extends from its 1,100-acre campus on Long Island’s North Shore – encompassing the main academic areas, an 8,300-seat stadium and sports complex, a performing arts center, SBU Medical Center, the Health Sciences Center, and the Veterans Home – to Stony Brook Manhattan, a new R&D Park, three business incubators including one at Calverton, NY, and the SBU Southampton campus on Long Island. Stony Brook also co-manages Brookhaven National Laboratory.
