Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Most programs have a GPA requirement of 2.5. Sports Management, Occupational Therapy, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Official Transcripts:
    SC requires official transcripts from each high school and college attended.
  • SAT Scores:
    Students who have earned less than 15 college credits must submit SAT scores.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Although we require only one letter of recommendation, many students send multiple letters.
  • Essay:
    An essay is required of all applicants. The topic is as follows: Please comment on the aspects of your life which have led you to select your intended major and why you believe Springfield College will meet your educational needs.
  • Application Fee:
    All applicants must submit a $50 application fee.
  • Interview:
    Interviews are encouraged, but not required.
  • Other Requirements:
    Students must submit a dean's report form for all colleges attended.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    A student must obtain a grade of C- or higher for a course to transfer.

  • Transfer Agreements:
    Springfield College has joint admissions agreements with Holyoke Community College, Springfield Technical Community College and we are currently finalizing an agreement with Berkshire Community College.
  • Special Programs:
    We offer a transfer student SOAR - Student Orientation, Advising and Registration day. There is also a four-day orientation before classes begin.
