For 135 years, Spring Arbor University has distinguished itself as the place where faith and learning meet. What began as a small elementary and secondary school in the late 1800s has evolved into a top-tier, liberal arts, Christian university with over 4,000 enrolled students. Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    As a transfer student, you must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher for regular admission.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Have all the colleges and universities you have attended send your official transcripts to SAU's admissions office.
  • SAT Scores:
    You must send us your ACT or SAT scores if you are transferring with less than 26 semester hours.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Spring Arbor does not publish a requirement for letters of recommendation.
  • Essay:
    A personal statement answering "Have you personally accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior?" is on your application.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a $30 non-refundable application fee, which is waived if you apply online.
  • Interview:
    Spring Arbor does not publish a requirement for a personal interview.
  • Other Requirements:
    Sign and submit a release of information form from the last college you attended if you lived on campus and attended within the last four years.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Courses with a grade below “C” (2.0) will not be accepted for transfer. Courses graded with “P” (Pass) or “CR” (Credit) will not transfer unless institutional policy states that “P” or “CR” is equivalent to at least a 2.0.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The max credits from a 2-year institution is 68, and 90 from a 4-year. The minimum credits that you must complete at Spring Arbor to earn a degree is 30.
