  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    As soon as you have submitted your application for Admission, we encourage you to file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid so that we are able to put together a full financial aid package for you. Transfer students are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships when they apply to Simmons. These do not require a separate application and are part of the admission process. The scholarships range from $7,000 to $17,000 per year.
  • Tuition and Fees:
    The estimated expenses for a typical full-time undergraduate resident who is a non-nursing major are $60,087, $63,997 for nursing majors. This includes tuition/fees, room/board, and health insurance.

Information for Transfer In Students

  • Accepts Transfers:
    A student is only considered a transfer student if they have earned 17 or more credits in a degree-seeking program. Students who have earned 16 or less credits, in a degree seeking program or not, must apply as a first-year student.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    The recommended grade point average (GPA) is a 2.8 for transfer students.
  • Official Transcripts:
    An official high school transcript or GED/HISET - waived with completed Associate's degree (except for nursing applicants) and college transcripts from all institutions attended are required.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    1 college recommendation (adviser or faculty preferred) is required.
  • Essay:
    An essay or personal statement is required.
  • Interview:
    An interview is recommended, not required.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    Students completing the MassTransfer Gen Ed Foundation (34 credits) OR the MassTransfer Gen Ed Foundation with an Associate’s degree (60 credits) and earning a cumulative GPA of 3.0 can apply for our Transfer SUCCESS program - $20,000 Scholarship.
  • Other Requirements:
    Mid-term Grade Report if requested - Applicants who will have 32 credits at the end of their current semester can choose to submit a Mid-Term Grade Report to have their standardized testing waived.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is C.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Undergraduate students may transfer in a maximum of 80 transfer credits, no more than 16 of which may be from courses taken during summer terms. You must complete 43 credits at Simmons to earn your bachelor's degree.
