Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Ordinarily a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75 (on a scale where an A is 4.00) is required for transfer admission. Applications are reviewed carefully; primary consideration given to course selection and individual course performance. The average GPA of admitted transfer students (based on transferable credits alone) is 3.34.
  • Official Transcripts:
    High school transcripts are required if applying with less than 45 credits. College transcripts from every institution attended are required.
  • SAT Scores:
    SAT/ACT are not not normally required; however, the Dean of Admissions may request them after an initial application review.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Teacher recommendations are not normally required; however, the Dean of Admissions may request them after an initial application review.
  • Essay:
    Applicants must complete an essay as part of the application and a brief personal essay describing why you are applying to Seattle University.
  • Application Fee:
    There is a non-refundable application fee of $50.
  • Interview:
    An interview is not required for admissions consideration.
  • Other Requirements:
    All applicants must complete a transfer student common application and a Supplemental Application for Undergraduate Admission. A statement of good standing from prior institutions is required. Additional requirements vary by program.

  • Minimum Grade:
    In general, credit may be granted for courses when a grade of at least a C has been earned.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Minimum credits - 36 credits. Maximum credits from a two-year institution - 90 quarter credits. Maximum credits from a four-year institution - 135 quarter credits.
