Theories and models derived from nursing and the social sciences critiqued for their usefulness with families experiencing a variety of problems such as acute and chronic illness, transitions, poverty and violence. Seminar discussion synthesizes family health concepts with concepts from theory and family therapy, and with previously learned concepts for use in practice. Opportunities for identification of areas for further research.
