The disorders include: anxiety disorders, mood disorders, schizophrenia, substance abuse, dissociative, personality, and sexual disorders. The role of stress and genetics is emphasized. This course is a survey of theories, methods, and issues involved in the application of psychological principles in work settings. 3 Credits This course will deal with variations in sexual attitudes and behavior. Students will study the interaction of physiological, emotional, cultural, legal, and religious influences on sexual behavior. Some of the topics to be covered are healthy sexual interactions, sexual preferences, sexual anatomy, and development and theories of sexual behavior. In addition, sexual diseases, disorders, and therapies will be discussed. Prerequisite: PSY* 111 or PSY* 112

Topics include an examination of the nature of science, the scope and reliability of scientific knowledge, the relationships between science and culture, and the characteristics of pseudo-science. Scientific theories are studied as cases by which to understand the methods used by scientists. Effective communication is emphasized. Prerequisite: ENG* 101
