Organismal Biology With Laboratory Pre or Co-Requisite: CHE 210/212 or CHE 211/213 Prerequisite: Placement in Tier 1 Math The structure and function of organisms is the focus of this course. After a passage through the clade of living organisms, we consider the basic problems faced by all living organisms and compare the diverse solutions that have evolved among bacteria, archaea, protists, chromists, rhodophytes, plants, fungi, and animials. The fundamental concepts include: cellular structure, homeostasis, growth, movement, behavior, reproduction, and evolution. Laboratory exercises involve both observation of and experimentation with living organisms. Three hours lecture, three hours laboratory. 0.000 TO 4.000 Credit Hours 0.000 TO 3.000 Lecture hours 0.000 TO 3.000 Lab hours Levels: Undergraduate Schedule Types: Laboratory, Lecture Team Taught, Lecture, Lecture and Lab School of Arts and Sciences College Biology Department
