    American Folk Art Prerequisite: None This course covers two hundred years of nonacademic art. A better understanding of American history can be gained through the study of the material culture of the "common people". Nearby resources such as Sturbridge Village, Mystic Seaport Museum, the Wadsworth Athenaeum, and local historical societies will be used to supplement the class presentations. Folk painting, sculpture, textile arts, and maritime arts will be presented through slides and craft projects.
