    Honors: Expository Writing Prerequisite: Admissions To The Honors Program Honors Expository Writing emphasizes the role of writing in intellectual and social processes. This course focuses on critical analysis in reading and writing, challenging students to frame complex ideas within relevant contexts and tailor their writing to more effectively address specific purposes and audiences. Each semester two new colloquia are offered. Recent colloquia have included the Arts in China, New England and the Sea, Modern Troubadours, and Health-Care Reform. Honors Scholars take three colloquia which may be used to fulfill any three interdisciplinary course requirements in Category I of the General Education Requirements.     Introduction to Thesis Research Pre-Requisites: Admissions To The Honors Program This seminar facilitates the initiation of the Honors Thesis research project by providing students with advice, information, and strategies for identifying their respective thesis mentor and tentative thesis topic.
