The course will acquaint students with the key frameworks, approaches, and issues in the field of Women's Studies. The course introduces students to complex geographies of food production and consumption and the changes that processes of gobalization are making at localities across the globe.     Global Geopolitical Divisions Prerequisite: None The course examines the global spatial relations that were created from early Western exploration through contemporary globalization. It is designed to develop the analytic skills necessary to investigate the role of Western representational systems and practices (including exploration, colonialism, racism, nationalism, post-colonialism, development, and globalization) in the creating of the 21st-century geopolitical map.     Economic Geography Prerequisite: None This course introduces students to the changes currently taking place in the global economic map, changes that are having dramatic effects on people living in both developed and developing nations. We will examine the complexities of globalization through the study of technological changes, the role of the state within this new global economy, the activities of transnational corporations and global production networks.
