Includes use of front-end loader to load dirt, using backhoe attachment to dig trenches of specific depth and length, replacing a cutting edge, and OSHA and industry standards of open excavations.

Credit Hours: 2 Description: Covers the safe operation of the hydraulic excavator. Allows the student to perform a variety of operations with the excavator.

Credit Hours: 2 Description: Teaches performing walk-around inspections, using proper terms and definitions associated with the bulldozer, and using proper safety procedures. Includes performing rough ditching and spreading, performing ripping operations, cutting and building a gentle slope bench, using the bulldozer on unstable soil, and replacing cutting edges on blades and teeth on rippers.

Credit Hours: 2 Description: Teaches how to perform excavation in confined space, construct an elevated roadway, perform finish work, move large obstacles, perform bull-dozing operations on a slope. Includes identifying and repairing drainage problems, stockpiling materials, use of a transit or hand level to create a 3:1 slope, and OSHA, MSHA and industry safety standards.
