The analysis, design, implementation, development and ongoing management of computer-based information systems; related software, hardware and networking issues for business and industry; end-user customization of applications and interfaces; and selection of information, via query and scripting languages. This course is an introduction to the Java programming language and the Object-Oriented Programming paradigm (OOP). Students will write programs to solve problems in business, mathematics and other subjects, working with character strings, arrays, functions and procedures.
