Three hours laboratory for each unit of credit. (Any combination of Environmental Science 77, 77X and 77Y may be taken up to six times, not to exceed 18 units, as long as the topics/projects are different each time.) One hour lecture, one additional hour to be arranged in the Kirsch Center Resource Center or the Cheeseman Environmental Study Area. Explore the newly emerging field of ecotourism in the 21st century including the principles of ecosystem management and restoration ecology and communitybased coalition models throughout the Americas. Apply the community-based ecotourism model of collaboration to local environmental case studies to preserve, protect and restore native species and ecosystems.
