Topics include: theories of criminal behavior causes; the nature, extent, control, and prevention of crimes; individual and group criminal activity; criminal behavior systems; crime categories; crime prevention theory; and police behavioral response. Topics include: identification of the crime scene; investigative patterns and techniques; tool use; mathematical measurements; evidence handling procedures; notetaking strategies; elements of the crime scene sketch, including the definition and use of symbols and legends; and the preparation and presentation of crime scene sketches in court.
