1 FS LAST 150, faculty permission. This course will provide students with a genuine cross-cultural experience which will enable them to understand Latin American life from the point of view of the Latin American family with which they will live and the Latin American people with whom they will work. Students will live with a Latin American family and work in a Latin American organization for a six-week period. Students will keep a log of their experiences and prepare a written evaluation of their families and jobs.

3 SP ENGL 130 (or its equivalent) with a grade of C- or higher, LAST 110. An in-depth, interdisciplinary seminar that examines selected topics in Latin American culture and society, past and present, through critical reading of, and commentary on, recent scholarship devoted to the region.Readings may include Spanish language sources. Topics vary by semester. Required for majors and minors.

4 FS Introduction to the Latin language and culture. Emphasis on the fundamental skills of reading, pronunciation and composition of Latin.

3 SP This course engages each student in the ongoing discussion and exploration of the requisites for effective leadership. We will do this by exposing the class to theories of leadership, the literature on the practical experiences of leaders and leadership, and consideration of personal attributes for effective leadership. The course is designed to cross numerous disciplinary borders.

1 FA Different presenters who hold leadership positions on campus, in the community, or in the region will share their leadership experiences with students in the course to provide models of successful leadership.

3 SP CMST 472, LDRS 300, LDRS 389; CMST 470 or HCSV 330 or MGMT 303 or POLS 462. MGMT 447. This capstone experience is designed to bring together the various elements of the minor in leadership studies. It is also structured to introduce the student of leadership to emerging areas which impact significantly the study of leadership. These topics include ethics and integrity, the transpersonal dimension, creativity and innovation, team building, and the impact and use of technology. The course also requires the student to solve leadership-related problems individually and as a member of a team.

This non-baccalaureate course employs non-traditional teaching methods and learning strategies that have been specially designed to enhance student success in the course. Introduction to the basic properties of real numbers, variables, equations, algebraic expressions, functions and their graphs. Includes evaluation of expressions and formulas; translation from words to symbols; solutions of linear equations and inequalities; absolute value; powers and roots; solving two linear equations in two unknowns; real world applications. Satisfactory completion of this course fulfills the prerequisite for enrollment in Intermediate Algebra (MATH 012 or MATH 051). ABC/no credit grading only.

This non-baccalaureate course employs non-traditional teaching methods and learning strategies that have been specially designed to enhance student success in the course. Review of linear equations, inequalities, exponents, and polynomials, functions, rational expressions, rational exponents, and radicals, quadratic equations, systems of linear equations and logarithms. Satisfactory completion of this course fulfills the prerequisite for enrollment in a General Education level mathematics course. ABC/no credit grading only.
