Activities result in a paper that is substantial in content and length, reliant on primary visual and textual material, consistent with methodologies in the field, and professionally crafted and presented. May be substituted for ARH490 as a requirement to graduate. Prerequisite: 60 credit hours.

Allows upper-level students the opportunity to gain experience in the field of art history through practical work-study situations. Internships are jointly administered by a faculty member and a sponsoring institution with the student working approximately 40 hours per credit. Prerequisite: 60 credit hours (Junior standing).

Provides a comprehensive overview of the technologies, applications and issues related to metaverse technologies with a focus on virtual and augmented reality. Applications in fields such as marketing, communication, medicine, science, and education will be explored and the current and potential impact on individuals and society will be investigated. VR and AR applications will be created in class. The course is open to students from all majors.

Examines technologies, processes and issues encountered by creators of immersive and interactive solutions for the metaverse. Current authoring tools such as Unity will be used to create experiences in Virtual, Augmented, and/or Mixed Reality, which will be components of the metaverse. Students will explore interface design, 3D modeling, the authoring tools, and basic coding techniques.

Practice skills that will prepare students linguistically, physically, and cognitively for the act of interpreting by employing intra-lingual skills in English and in ASL. May be offered as traditional or distance education.

Introduces students to communication using American Sign Language (ASL) as it is used within the American Deaf Community. This course involves a study of vocabulary, grammar, fingerspelling, the history of ASL and its recognition as a language. The major focus will be the demonstration of beginning expressive and receptive conversational ASL skills.

Builds upon the content of ASL I with emphasis placed on more complex grammatical structures and conversational fluency. Students will demonstrate receptive and expressive skills above the basic level. This course is highly interactive and students' signing skills will be assessed.

Focuses on visual and kinetic readiness via visual/gestural communication techniques, visual discrimination, and memory exercises. Topics include kinetic theory and exercises of the body, face, arms, hands, and their relationship to space, which are an integral part of ASL.
