The approach that these two languages utilize for the various tenses are quite different.? This course uses a compare and contrast approach of English and American Sign Language syntax.? Upon the foundation laid in ASL Linguistics, this course aids in increasing the students' ability to achieve dynamic equivalence between ASL and English.

Students will become familiar with features of the DeafBlind community, learn common etiologies of deaf-blindness, learn basic communication and guiding skills for use with DeafBlind people, and experience a variety of situations simulating deaf-blindness. Students will learn about support services and assistive technology for those who are DeafBlind. Students will learn interpreting strategies when working with DeafBlind Populations based on vision abilities.
