    Explores the historical, racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and geographic, factors responsible for creating disparities in healthcare access, delivery, and policy. The course will specifically consider barriers known to affect these disparities in rural and urban regions as well as various healthcare settings including correctional facilities.

    Offers students enrolled in the Physician Assistant Program the opportunity to study health disparities in globally underserved populations and develop the cultural competence skills necessary to provide quality care to diverse populations. Students will complete a global experience as a part of the coursework.
