This course introduces the student to server-side technologies. Students are required to write and test database driven websites that use both client-side and server-side scripts.

This course introduces the development, documentation, and implementation of policies and procedures for protecting an organization's information assets. Topics will include personnel security, system security testing, types of security management (accounts, assets, change, and risk), business impact analysis, organizational policies, and cyber governance.

The internship in computer science is intended to give the student an opportunity for on-the-job experience in theoretical or applied computer science. The internship shall incorporate meaningful productive experience usually during the junior year. Time spent and the nature of the experience is usually under the control of the local agency and is used in the determination of the amount of credit obtained. In addition to the hours spent on the job, the student shall also be responsible to the department Internship Coordinator. Prerequisite: Permission of the department Internship Coordinator.

This will be achieved through the introduction of various tools and techniques such as spreadsheet software, data analysis tools, visualization tools, and basic scripting.

This course introduces the student to website development by covering topics of: the Internet and its architecture, standards effecting websites, website design issues, and the building and publishing of a website. Students will put to use the skills learned by creating a small website.

This course introduces computer programming using a structured language. It integrates techniques of algorithm design and development, procedural and data abstraction, good programming style, testing, and debugging. Topics will also include data types, control structures, subprograms, documentation and coding techniques, and elementary data structures.

This course provides an in depth study of the application of spreadsheet software for data analysis. Students will work individually and collaboratively to analyze data from various domains. Emphasis will be placed on documenting and presenting solutions.

This course focuses on fundamental principles in modern operating systems including Windows, Unix/Linux and Mac OS. Students learn about the services provided by operating systems' software, memory management, process scheduling and communication, storage, input/output, and distributed systems. OS security and data protection and the interaction between computers will be also covered.
