This introductory course uses basic concepts from psychology to challenge students to become more thoughtful when analyzing statements and opinions about human behavior. Students participate in discussions and make presentations in which they examine popular misconceptions and current issues relevant to psychology.

This course focuses on introducing psychology majors to the broad range of career opportunities related to psychology. Students will explore personal interests and skills developed in the major that relate to career options with a bachelor's degree and career options that would require graduate school.

Explores problems of personality, effective communication, conflict resolution, and the role of emotions in behavior, relationships, and health.

This course introduces students to uses of medical cannabis, and how cannabis and related drugs work in the human body. Students will compare the benefits and risks of cannabis and related drugs in a wide range of medical conditions. Students will also learn to critique and contrast different kinds of health research, in order to make unbiased judgments about cannabis in medicine.

The course examines the scientific approach toward understanding human social behavior. The course focuses on the perspective of the individual-how people think about, influence, and relate to one another within their situational and cultural contexts. Topics include social cognition, aggression, prejudice, altruism, persuasion, and relationships.

This course provides an overview of the biological, cognitive, and social factors that impact physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development throughout the lifespan. Presents the research methodology common to this field of psychology as well as the major theories and their application to stages of life from conception to death.

Sources of stress, effects of stress, manifestations of stress and methods of coping with stress will be examined, with the focus being on practical application.

This course covers the application of descriptive and inferential statistical procedures in psychology, with an emphasis on the analysis and interpretation of experimental data. Topics include testing assumptions, computation and interpretation of various hypothesis tests, and the application of computer statistical packages.

This course examines research strategies for understanding psychological phenomena. Students formulate and evaluate research hypotheses, systematically collect data, organize and statistically analyze data, identify confounds and alternate explanations of findings, and prepare research reports using APA style.

This course examines the intersectionality of culture, race, ethnicity, and diversity in the field of psychology. Focuses on how issues of culture and diversity relate to the interpretation and perception of people's experience/beliefs/values as well as how to apply this information in the field of psychology overall.
