Students learn key topics and trends in the nonprofit sector, along with the fields of social entrepreneurship, governing boards, philanthropy, earned incom strategies, advocacy, lobbying, fundraising and leadership, which are the building blocks for the administration of not-for-profit organizations. Through classic and current, domestic and international cases, students review and assess how management theory and practice apply in the fast-growing sector of the economy. A service-learning team project gives students practical experience.

In this course, students will design and implement a study in sustainable business applied to their area of interest in management, under the close supervision of a faculty member. The research process includes proposal, literature review, second source study, and presentation.

Students are placed with an organization for a practical training experience to supplement academic learning. Through coursework, students apply the theories, concepts, and techniques learned for further career readiness and success.

Examines leadership within different contexts, emphasizing the human, organizational, and societal impact of ethical vs. unethical and effective vs. ineffective behaviors and decisions. Active collaborative leadership experiences put theory into practice through team interaction. Exploration of personal leadership culminates in a development plan.

Examines the cultural impact of a global workforce when striving to create an inclusive workplace. Students will develop a toolkit to ethically leverage diversity in an inclusive manner to the benefit of the company and its strategies. Students will evaluate how power is an important dynamic when executing human resource strategy.

Systematic exploration of business negotiation theory and practice with a focus on conflict resolution, including international themes. Provides tools to effectively mediate individuals' and organizations' priorities, resolve conflicts, and reach sustainable agreements through simulations, role-plays, and active learning.

Determine when research is necessary to support the decision making process. Compares and applies different approaches to management research to identify solutions applicable to given scenarios. The course will show students why research is a critical skill for leaders during the problem solving through active application of techniques.

This course focuses on the management of the operations function of the organization. Students learn how the operations portion of an organization functions and its value to the overall organization. Project Management is taught within the course to facilitate the student's understanding of the management of projects versus ongoing operations.

This course serves as an introduction to the marketing discipline. Foundational topics include identification of target markets, understanding of population demographics and psychographics, the four P's (product, price, place, promotion) of marketing, social responsibility, marketing segmentation, environmental factors affecting marketing efforts.
