Discussion of British and American essays by such writers as Bacon, Addison, Swift, Arnold, Emerson, Chesterton, Lewis Thomas, and Joan Didion, with applications in written assignments. Student writings are discussed in class or in conference. Prerequisites: EH 101 and EH 102.
