Criticism will be based in both context and formal analysis of visual art works. Historic & contemporary perspectives of feminist art criticism will be an important component. Questions will focus on woman as image, as artist, as patron, and as model. The institutional structures that affected women's lives and work as artists and patrons will be investigated.
