This class will use scientific and literary lenses to examine human development throughout the lifespan. Students will engage with the stages of the lifespan, from conception to death, by examining the research and theories on the psychology of human development, reading the literature written for, and about, each of the developmental stages, and writing about their own developmental experiences. Fulfills some of the following AA degree requirements depending on which classes you register for: Individuals, Cultures, and Society; Composition; VLPA; US Cultures; and Integrated Studies Prerequisites: Every student enrolling in this coordinated studies course must have completed PSYC&100 and ENGL&101

Increasing greenhouse gas emissions and effect on climate change is an important factor in making real estate investment decisions. This course provides education on how global greenhouse gas emissions is affected by homeowners and the strategies being used to reduce these negative impacts on the environment, including constructing and maintaining energy efficient homes. The course covers the design and building process, alterative envelope strategies, energy efficient and alternative energy generation systems, energy saving products, and rebate and incentive programs. It discusses broader issues around regional development and transportation planning and their impacts on greenhouse gas emissions. This course gives real estate professionals the ability to speak to their clients from an educated platform on the environmental features of the products and processes used in green building projects. (Fulfills 15 DOL continuing education clock hours.) Class starts on Nov. 20 and ends on Dec. 11 2010.

Prerequisites: RES 100, RES 110, or RES 180 or RES 210 which can be taken concurrently, or real estate expe ience, or real estate license or instructor permission.

Provides advanced students with research opportunities or unpaid work experience in real estate applications parallel with those encountered in an actual job environment and allows students to pursue independent study on special projects.
