Yoga includes postures or asanas, breathing, meditation exercises for physical and mental fitness. Yoga is presented as a philosophy and an art form, taking the student through a number of poses, explaining their purposes as they are attained. Fee: $2 Transfer class.

Instruction in creating, executing and maintaining individualized fitness programs. Aerobic training developed through stair stepping, elliptical treadmill, bicycle and rowing machines, and/or walking, jogging; muscular strength and endurance training developed through free weights and resistance machines; flexibility developed through stretching exercises. Current fitness-related issues, trends and facts will also be discussed. Transfer class.

2.00 Credits
Instruction in manipulating already-existing individualized fitness programs to meet personal goals. Emphasis given to aerobic, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility training regimens. Discussion topics will be similar to those listed in PEC 150. Transfer class.

American Red Cross certification in First Aid Basics and Community CPR (infant, child, adult). Additional instruction/certification in advanced rescue skills i.e. two-person CPR, pocket mask, bag-valve-mask and automated external defibrillation, is also provided. $8.00 fee required to cover CPR card and supplies. Additional *$2.00 fee if student needs advanced certification. (*subject to change) Transfer Class

2.00 Credits
Teaches fundamentals of dance technique while improving strength, flexibility and anaerobic capacity. Jazz style, which borrows from ballet and contemporary street dance, also builds postural awareness and develops motor skills. Lecture topics include safety, injury prevention, spinal health and nutrition. Transfer class.

This class incorporates an overall conditioning plan by featuring a variety of activities throughout the quarter. Selected activities will be structured to improve aerobic stamina, muscular strength and endurance, as well as flexibility. Examples of course activities may include high-low and step aerobics, weight training/sculpting, kickboxing, yoga, Pilates, circuit training and others. Transfer class.

YOGA PILATES Integrates components of both Pilates matwork and yoga poses into a complete exercise program. Benefits include posture, strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance improvements as well as opportunities for breathing exercise and relaxation. Transfer class.

Basic instruction in developing, executing and maintaining an individualized fitness program. Students meet for the first one to three weeks of class, after which they pursue their exercise program at the NSCC Wellness Center anytime during its drop-in hours. Participation at scheduled class meetings, including the first meeting day of the quarter is REQUIRED. Independent schedules, class lectures and final exam will be arranged. PROPER ATTIRE AND SHOES ARE REQUIRED AT ALL SESSIONS. Transfer class.

This course is designed to introduce students to federal and state laws governing the practice of pharmacy. Special emphasis is given to areas of state law regulating activities of pharmacy technicians. Registration limited to students enrolled in the Pharmacy Technician program. Permission required.

This course will review the contributions made by nations of the world to the practice of pharmacy past and present. Course will review the role of professional pharmacy organizations, past and present, to improving the practice of pharmacy and the role of pharmacy personnel. Students will also learn about new drug development, drug distribution, and the role of the pharmacy technician in drug procurement. Course material will cover the types of sites which currently employ pharmacy technicians including an analysis of the role of pharmacy technicians in these various job settings. Current trends which may effect the future direction for pharmacy technicians will also be discussed. Registration limited to students enrolled in the Pharmacy Technician program. Permission required.
