A continuation of material covered in EET 170 including logic fundamentals, logic IC families and their characteristics, logic controls, and associated circuitry. Performance criteria include construction of logic control circuits and measurement of circuit parameters and functions. Topics include logic numbering systems, Boolean algebra, detectors, combinational logic, ADA converters, memories and registers. Course concludes with an introduction to microcomputers and microprocessors. Prerequisite: EET 170. Computer Fee.

Team oriented project course serving as a capstone experience in the electronics technology and related specialty programs. Students will be expected to plan, design, implement and present an electronics--oriented project of suitable complexity. Projects may make use of sensors, motors, optics, pneumatics, hydraulics, digital and analog circuitry, software, etc. Emphasis is on application of technical knowledge, teamwork, and effective project management. Prerequisite: EET 217, EET 218.

Provides opportunity to learn equipment, advanced circuits and concepts involved in medical health care. Stresses patient-connected monitoring equipment from the repair calibration point of view. Emphasis is on detailed knowledge of diagnostic procedures and rapid, effective servicing techniques. Course is planned to help prepare students for the patient monitoring sections of the biomedical equipment technology certification test sponsored by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). Prerequisites: EET 165 and EET 170 or EET 127, EET 128; AHI 100; and ANP 128.

Work experience in a hospital, clinic, equipment manufacturer or laboratory is critical to job placement in the biomedical field. This course is designed to supply students with that experience.

Assessment and development of language and communications skills and knowledge. Emphasizes effective communication in academic and career contexts. Analysis of models of effective writing and speaking. Research paper or project on career-oriented topic integrated with a personal, historical, technical or sociological perspective. Prereq: Appropriate placement testing and counseling.

2.00 Credits
Individual and small group study to improve listening, speaking, study skills, reading comprehension and rate, vocabulary, phonics and word skills, spelling, grammar, writing sentences, paragraphs and essays. Prereq: Permission or placement; consult college testing office. Does not replace an ENGL 090-level class but may be taken concurrently with an 090-level classes.

As we read novels and essays and watch films together, we will consider how we shape and share these stories across diverse cultural backgrounds. As we explore the power of words and images to reach various audiences, we will come into our own as thoughtful readers and writers and as informed movie viewers.
