This course provides preparation in the basic knowledge and skills involved in recognizing and responding to a variety of emergencies and life-threatening situations, including training in evaluation and providing basic care for victims of injury and/or sudden illness until professional medical help arrives (CPR and First Aid). Additionally, students receive instruction and practice in the prevention of common injuries. Safety and health education issues are studied with their application to prevention in the community, home and workplace settings.
