Native or near-native speakers of Spanish develop and improve reading, writing, and grammar skills in their native language, while learning to appreciate the depth and diversity of Latino culture both in the United States and abroad. Special attention is given to advanced grammar and vocabulary of standard Spanish. Students are introduced to a comprehensive and analytical survey of Spanish and Latin American literature, as well as theoretical and practical approaches in Spanish translating and interpreting.
