Continuation of the principles of physics that underlie the use of radiation in diagnostic imaging. Topics include: radiographic film and its response to exposure, fluoroscopic and digital imaging, CR, tomography, mammography, and accessory imaging equipment used in radiography. Focus on radiation biology and protection considerations relative to radiation interactions with living tissue. Part of the third quarter of the Medical Radiography program. Hybrid course: Combination of traditional classroom setting and online website. Concurrent enrollment in MRAD 122, 143, and 152 required. Prerequisite: A grade of "C" or better in MRAD 108, 121, 142, and 151 orconsent of Instructional Unit.

First in a series of seven competency-based clinical experience courses. Students orient to an assigned clinical education center and by instruction, observation, and experience, acquire the necessary skills to successfully image patients utilizing x-ray energy. Concurrent enrollment required in MRAD 108, 142, and 151. Prerequisite: Completion of MRAD 101, 102, 103, 104, and 141 each with a grade of "C" or better and Consent ofInstructional Unit.

Second in a series of seven competency-based clinical experience courses. Students will be assessed for competency in imaging of the shoulder, lower limb, and knee for maintenance of competency from previous clinical experience. Part of the third quarter of the Medical Radiography program. Concurrent enrollment in MRAD 109, 143, and 152 required. Prerequisite: A grade of "C" or better in MRAD 108, 121, 142, and 151 orconsent of Instructional Unit.

Students orient to an assigned clinical education center, acquire the necessary skills to successfully image patients utilizing X-ray energy, and are assessed for competency in the imaging of the hip, shoulder and spine and maintenance of competency from previous clinical evaluations and experiences. Concurrent enrollment in MRAD 153, 214, 244. Prerequisite: A grade of "C" or better in MRAD 109, 122, 143 or 152 or consent ofInstructional Unit.

Introduction to basic radiographic positioning principles and terminology. Lecture discussion and demonstration as well as lab experiences will be used to present on positioning and anatomy of the chest, abdoment and upper extremities. Concurrent enrollment required in MRAD 101 and 103. Prerequisite: Admission in the Medical Radiography Program.

Concurrent enrollment required in MRAD 108, 121, and 151. Prerequisite: Completion of MRAD 101, 102, 103, 104, and 141 each with a grade of "C" or better and Consent of InstructionalUnit.

Third in a five-course series that focuses on positioning principles and terminology. Lecture discussion and demonstration as well as lab experiences will be used to present information on positioning and anatomy of the bony thorax, spine, and pelvis. Part of the third quarter of the Medical Radiography program. Concurrent enrollment in MRAD 109, 122, and 152 required. Prerequisite: A grade of "C" or better in MRAD 101, 102, 103,104, and 141 or consent of Instructional Unit.

Introduction to critique of the diagnostic qualities of radiographic images with emphasis on images of the chest, abdomen, and upper extremities. Concurrent enrollment required in MRAD 108, 121, and 142. Prerequisite: Completion of MRAD 101, 102, 103, 104, and 141 each with a grade of "C"or better and Consent of Instructional Unit.
