In this course the diplomatic approach is utilized with emphasis on the interaction of the major European nations (and the United States after World War II) as they deal with the realignment of power after World War I, the rise of Nazism, the expansion of Communism into Eastern Europe after World War II, the emergence of the European Union, and the fall of the Berlin Wall.
