Designed primarily for photographers who wish to gain a thorough background in exposure settings, cameras, film, and darkroom techniques. Special emphasis is placed on the expressive possibilities of the camera in relation to the field of design and visual communication. Students must provide camera and film. Six hours, three credits.

This course continues many of the same topics of ART 201 with an emphasis on artistic visual communication and with the expectation that the work produced in this course will illustrate the student's mastery of more advanced techniques and applications. Prerequisite: ART 201. Six hours, three credits.

A course for level three drawing that allows students the opportunity to study and expand their personal styles and learn more advanced drawing techniques. Emphasis will be placed upon individual interpretation of class assignments. All standards and expectations will be on a higher level than ART 204. Prerequisite: ART 204. Six hours, three credits.

A basic course in jewelry and metalworking skills and concepts. Students are introduced to various techniques including sawing, forming, stonecutting, construction, and casting. The design elements and principles are introduced as a major part of the course. Creative problem-solving and the expanded possibilities of jewelry making and metalworking are emphasized. Prerequisite: ART 101, 104. Six hours, three credits.

The strong emphasis in this course is on developing throwing skills on the potter's wheel to create pottery vessels and ceramic sculpture. Mixing glazes and various methods of firing are experienced. Prerequisite: ART 206 Six hours, three credits.

Intermediate painting is designed for students who desire to learn more advanced techniques in painting. Emphasis is placed upon individual interpretation of class painting assignments at the intermediate level. The course allows students to explore and expand their personal styles of painting. Students develop a portfolio, including slides, that exhibits versatility and proficiency in painting. Prerequisite: ART 212. Six hours, three credits.

Students are introduced to basic printmaking processes. Techniques include collograph, linocut, woodcut, drypoint, etching, aquatint, and silkscreen. Prerequisite: ART 101, 104. Six hours, three credits.

Designed for photographers who wish to expand their knowledge of black and white and color processing and printing. Students must provide camera, film, and enlarging paper. Prerequisite: ART 217. Six hours, three credits.

The student will explore the fundamentals of three-dimensional form using additive and subtractive techniques in various media, including clay, metal, wood, fiber, plaster, and found objects. Prerequisite: ART 102. Six hours, three credits.
