    This course continues the study of JAZ 121 on an intermediate level. More emphasis is placed on kinetic and spatial awareness, coordination, phrasing and stylistic versatility. Prerequisite: JAZ 121, or permission of instructor. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to: (1) Incorporate a higher level of technique in the material. (2) Maintain alignment awareness with more advanced placement. (3) Maintain the importance of core strength and flexibility. (4) Recognize the importance of a professional approach to dance. (5) Possess the ability to move with both fluidity and strength in different musical meters.

    This course continues the study of JAZ 211 on an intermediate level. More emphasis is placed on kinetic and spatial awareness, coordination, phrasing and stylistic versatility. Prerequisite: JAZ 211, or permission of instructor. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to: (1) Demonstrate more complex coordinational skills involving the entire body. (2) Demonstrate the ability to move in a grounded manner. (3) Relate movement quality to musical quality. (4) Continue to develop technical skills.

    A continuation of JAZ 221, this course further develops a sense of personal style and solid technique on an intermediate to advanced level. Individual creativity is encouraged. Prerequisite: JAZ 221. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to: (1) Combine a higher level of technique with artistry. (2) Create clear execution of movement including dynamics. (3) Recognize the importance of an individual movement style. (4) Demonstrate consistency of movement.

    A continuation of JAZ 311, this course further develops a sense of personal style and solid technique on an intermediate to advanced level. Individual creativity is encouraged. Prerequisite: JAZ 311. Course Objectives Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to: (1) Combine a higher level of technique with dynamics and consistency. (2) Develop an individual movement style. (3) Develop creativity through movement. (4) Demonstrate consistency of movement. (5) Refine musicality skills.

(5) Demonstrate individual technical strengths and correct weaknesses. (6) Demonstrate coordinational skills.
