Health Ethics includes but is not limited to Medical Ethics, Health care Ethics, Bioethics, Biomedical Ethics, and Health Professional Ethics. Topics include the foundation for ethics in the theories and principles of ethics as applied to health care and a variety of ethical issues in health, including beginning of life issues (e.g. cloning, abortion, etc.) and end of life issues (e.g. euthanasia, assisted suicide, etc.).The Ethical and Religious Directives for Health care from the American Council of Bishops is covered. Special topics according to the interests of the professor and students will also be included (e.g. transplants, informed consent, medical mistakes).
