Laboratory math will also be presented as it applies to the histology laboratory.
-
3.00 Credits
This course introduces the student to microtomy procedures used in the histology laboratory, routine histology stains, and identifying normal and abnormal staining patterns in tissue specimens of carbohydrate, lipid and protein composition.
-
3.00 Credits
This course introduces the student to the evaluation of nerve tissue in the histology lab, the identification of microorganisms in tissue specimens, and the detection of amyloid in patient specimens as an indicator of a pathologic condition.
-

-
6.00 Credits
This course enables students to become proficient in manual and automated procedures routinely performed in the histology laboratory through "hands-on" application. Students will maintain quality control and quality assurance standards on instrumentation and manual tests used for tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, routine and special stain procedures.
-
