This course is designed to provide students with systemic theory and practice of materials, manufacturing processes, as well as emerging technology in the current industry. Discussions and assignments focus on the relationship of manufacturing processes and materials selection to design intent, as well as related technology application in product design such as virtual reality, additive manufacturing, etc. Through the practical projects, students can become familiar with the basic characteristics of the material, they will also have a deeper understanding of the main processing methods. Students will apply their digital skills in industry related applications such as mold making, vacuum forming, 3D printing, and CNC milling.

This course focuses on laying the foundation for teams and leadership. The topics include skills that will allow cadets to improve their leadership on a personal level and within a team. The courses will prepare cadets for their field training experience where they will be able to put the learned concepts into practice. The purpose is to instill a leadership mindset and to motivate sophomore students to transition from AFROTC cadet to AFROTC officer candidate. Offered: Fall semesters only.
