This course is a study of the microscopic anatomy of cells, tissues and organs. Correlations between structure and function at the microscopic and submicroscopic levels are primary functions of the course. Laboratory experiences will supplement the lecture and provide students with the opportunity to develop the ability to recognize the microscopic anatomy of cells, tissues, and organs. Graduate students also prractice techniques of histological slide preparation, design and complete a research project, and author a research paper based on primary literature and tissues prepared for class.
