THTR 320: GE: WS: Women in Theatre

This course will cover the development of a female dramatic tradition. Research will be conducted on the positions that came to be filled by women in the course of theatre history: playwright, director, producer, actress, teacher, designer, dramaturge and critic. Studies will be made of plays that feature strong female roles. The texts will range from Greek classics to comtemporary works.
