This course examines the field of victimology from a criminal justice perspective. It will focus on reviewing the problems associated with criminal victimization including the examinations of victim-offender relationships, the victim's role within society along with program and policies used within the criminal justice system, other social services and medical field to treat victimization. Specific topics will include sexual victimization, child abuse, intimate partner violence, and restorative justice.
