This course focuses on the psychological, educational, and medical aspects of persons with physical and multiple handicaps. Instructional techniques, prosthetic devices and specialized adaptive equipment will be examined. Exploration of ethical and legal rights and responsibilities, advocacy groups, agencies, and public and private resources will be included. Students are required to work with persons with disabilities in a practice experience in schools, agencies and/or community setting.
