This course balances the activities of digital photography (camera use) with image editing and refinement within the digital darkroom, to achieve artistic ends. Studio efforts will include: the enhancement of technical skills relative both to photographic image capture and image manipulation, use of Digital SLR cameras, advanced image editing, the refinement of personal aesthetics and style, the exploration of conceptual approaches to art work, exposure to art historical and contemporary art, the analysis of work based on fundamental design principles and art historical and contemporary art references, and the production of portfolio quality work in digital and print formats.
